Spent some time reading the Bible today and today's verse that STOOD OUT was:
"In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace." - Romans 6:11-14
I've come across this verse many times, and every time I read it,it just seemed alright to me. Being a Christian for a while,I tend to overlook some things sometimes. To me, sin is something that is so big to be pardoned, for example, murder, adultery etc.
But today,God reminded me that, sin is anything that fell short of His standards.Even things like talking bad about people, walking away when you see someone being treated unfairly, keeping quiet when I should voice out and help others etc - all these are also considered sin.
Now now,I don't want any of you to have the idea that being a Christian is just simply following a set of 'Do's and 'Don't's.It is UNTRUE!I am doing this because I know how much God has sacrificed and done for me, how much He loves me; and in return,I want to live a life that will glorify Him.
Lord, I pray that starting from today, I will be one who will offer parts of my body to You as instruments of righteousness, be it my lips (speech), hands (doing), legs (going), mind (thoughts) etc, I will try my very best to let it be used by You.Give me the wisdom and determination not to be conformed to the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, through your Word.Thank you Jesus for you unceasing love, one that no one can fathom!
