Yesterday, a sister shared at Lifegroup about us being preoccupied in everything except Jesus.
This reminded me of myself, of how I am always preoccupied with things (i.e. church, lifegroup, ministry etc) and tiring myself out that I have no time to just sit down at Jesus’ feet like Martha. Don’t get me wrong, doing church and etc are not wrong; but it’s just my choleric (i.e. task oriented) nature that always get the better of me. I love filling up my organizer with things to do and feel a sense of satisfaction when I manage to accomplish the tasks for the day.
So, when things get too overwhelming, I end up getting physically tired and neglect in spending that time with God.
At the end of the day, God desires us to be like Mary, just sitting at Jesus' feet and listening to Him.
When was the last time you sat at the feet of Jesus to hear from Him?
