"We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers - and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. " 1 Tim 1: 8-11

v8 in particular caught my attention - the law IS good if one uses it properly. That means, if the law is used improperly, then it will not be good.

Dictionary.com defines 'abuse' as: to use wrongly or improperly; misuse. That means, to use the law (i.e. Word of God) which is good in an improper manner is to abuse the law.

Imagine this with me, if we bought an iPhone and instead of using it the way it should be, we abuse it and use it for something else. Then I guess we would not be able to use the iPhone to the fullest potential. Likewise, when we abuse (i.e misuse) the law, we will not fully experience the power of the law.

Are you abusing the law today or using it to the fullest power?
