Happy Mothers' Day, Mum!

"The older we get, the more apparent the flaws and weaknesses of our parents."

In today's Sunday sermon, Pastor Jeff mentioned this phrase, and of how we should still appreciate our parents even though their flaws and weaknesses start surfacing or become more apparent to us.

Does knowing their flaws and weaknesses change the fact that they have made sacrifices for us - that they rather give us all the meat of the chicken and suck on the remaining bones; that they scrimp and save to give us what we need, and to the extent of what we want; that they work a few more years past their retirement age to provide for the family and many more.

I am sure our parents have made countless sacrifices for us - sometimes even silent ones - ones that we might not even know till the day we die. This is how GREAT the love of our parents is.

So, no matter what day it is, always shower your parents with love and care, always be thankful for all that they have done for you.

I'll end off with a phrase someone shared that really touched me - "Husbands, the best gift you can give your children is to cherish their mother."

*This is the kind of husband I want!
